The International Maritime Organization have chosen a theme for World Maritime Day that is close to the hearts of all who are associated with seafaring – and that is safety.
‘Navigating the Future: Safety First!’ reflects the relentless work the IMO has done to enhance and further Maritime safety. Events with prominent speakers, social participation projects and contributions from the shipping community across the world will explore the theme and help commemorate this important day.
With the fast pace of technological change and innovations taking place, the theme helps focus on new regulations arising to ensure the safety of shipping.
This is a subject which DBCE is all too aware of. Helping improve operational standards and reduce danger to shipping staff is a key aim for DBCE. With the launch of the DryBMS framework earlier this year we have taken a big step to achieving our goal. Subscribing to this self-assessment digital tool helps shipping operators get a greater understanding of how their organisation is performing. In return they will receive guidance on how to improve their safety and efficiency measures. By helping to drive levels of safety beyond the accepted regulatory standards, we can help make sure that every crewmember makes it home safely.
To promote safety first in your organisation, make World Maritime Day the day you subscribe to the DryBMS framework.
