Founded in 1921 and headquartered in Lübeck, Germany, Oldendorff Carriers is a family-owned company and one of the world’s largest independent dry bulk owners and operators. Carrying approximately 415 million tonnes of bulk cargo per year, making around 15,000 port calls across 127 countries, and operating a fleet of approximately 780 vessels with 4,500 employees from 60 nationalities across 20 global offices, Oldendorff brings exceptional scale, global reach, and a long-standing commitment to safety and operational excellence.
DryBMS continues to develop as a Ship Management Maturity Framework for the dry bulk sector, and the involvement of major industry operators like Oldendorff is central to building the shared commitment to standards that the framework depends upon. Their participation reflects a clear endorsement of the direction the industry is taking – towards more consistent, measurable, and transparent management practices across the global fleet.
